I can have both for the same price (about 999$ CND)
    Here the respective specs:

    DV4150
    # Operating system: Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition
    # Processor: Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology featuring Intel® Pentium® M Processor 725A,1.6GHz 2MB L2 Cache
    # Display: 15.4" WXGA High-Definition* BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 800) Display
    # Hard drive: 60 GB 4200 rpm hard drive
    # Memory: 512MB DDR SDRAM at 333MHz
    # Wireless connectivity: Intel®PRO/Wireless 2200 802.11BG WLAN
    # Modem/network card: Integrated 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (l) (RJ-45 connector)
    # CD/DVD drive: DVD±R/RW and CD-RW Combo Drive with Double Layer Support
    # Graphics card: Intel® graphics media accelerator 900 with up to 128 MB shared video memory

    NX8220
    # Operating system: Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional (French)
    # Processor: Intel® Pentium® M 730 1.6GHz, 2-MB L2 cache
    # Display: 15.4-inch colour TFT WXGA with wide viewing angle and (1280 x 800) resolution
    # Hard drive: 40 GB 5400 rpm hard drive
    # Memory: 512-MB 400-MHz DDR II SDRAM (512-MB SODIMM in slot 1)
    # Wireless connectivity: Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG 802.11b/g WAN
    # Modem/network card: 56K Fax/Modem, Integrated NetXtreme Gigabit PCI Express Ethernet, Controller (10/100/1000 NIC)
    # CD/DVD drive: 9.5-mm DVD/CD-RW combo drive
    # Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon X600 with 64MB video memory

As far as I can rationalize :

    NX 8220 have
multibay option : 2nd battery alternative
    better autonomy
    better construction
    x600 graph card
    weaker dim screen

    DV4150 have
    gorgeous screen
about same size and wight than 8220, which is good
    better audio
    nicer look
    weaker construction
    weaker graph card

I'll have to mention that graph is not so important for me. I'll be using this for CAD and web design.

    Am I forgetting something ?

I've had a dv4000 for about 2 months also and I like it. Although I don't have the dedicated graphics, just shared. I like the remote option and the quick play on the dv4000. The screen is very nice, although sometimes you might need to postion it perfectly so it doesn't look discolored.

    Thanks for your input!
Do you have a multibay option for the dv4000 ?

Also check the new dv5000 series. ATI X200 GPU, 64-bit CPU, and likely a little less money. Same 15.4" layout as the dv4000.

The business model offers you better build quality so it will probably be the better notebook. Yet, NX8220 had issues with the screen in the past and I don't if it has gotten any better.
If you are on a tight budget, I think you should look for Semprons or Turions rather than Pentium M. DV5000 is nice, v5000 (the compaq model) is even cheaper!

    NX8220 all the way,

First to start with, they are much better built than consumer models,

It has better video, faster HDD and XP Professional.

I'm going with you on those point!
My only worry is about the screen, which is reputed for having flat colors and low brightness...

No, the Multibay 2 is for CD/DVD/HD only, not for batteries.
    You've got this option though.
