Dv5t 10-17nr keeps trying to install the same windows update?

For the past week or so, I've installed the same windows update about 5 times.

Security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service pack 2 (KB936181)

It still says it needs to be installed
I had the same problem with another update less than a week ago, but that update was replaced by this one.

Is this a common windows problem? Anybody else have this problem? Are there solutions or do I just ignore it and manually check for OTHER Windows updates?


Thank you very much, because Microsoft doesn't seem to understand the words, "I did install it. Five times. Yes I shut down the computer. No I didn't take out the battery. Yes I left it charging while it shut down. No I didn't hold the power button to shut it down."

 

My 6930p does the same thing with the .Net framework service pack. I found out later that a later update was actually installed and Windows Update was the problem, since it was trying to install an older update. You can safely ignore that update or try downloading the update manually to see if it installs. Usually a manual installation would report less cryptic errors.
