Hi i just had a few questions about the Dv5t before i placed my order. My questions are, how good are the screens on these models, and how good of a graphics card is the 9600M GT? Also, is this laptop good for watching movies, and are the speakers decent? thanks. Im comparing this laptop and the Dell Xps 1530 but the Dell doesnt have any coupons and i need to order my laptop this week or next so im thinking HP is my next best choice.

I think the HP dv5t screen is very good. The 9600M GT is a performance video card - very powerful and capable of playing most games at medium/high settings.

Follow up question - Can you get the integrated graphics option and upgrade the GPU at a later date on this laptop?

HP has been using Altec Lansing speakers in the past couple of years. They produce pretty good sound. Definitely not as good as a dedicated external sound system that you might plug your laptop into, but it is considerably better than most other laptop speakers.

It should. The Intel platform is more efficient than AMD. The dv5z
tested battery life on this site was not very good. However, I read
a review last night for the dv5t, which stated that they got well over
    three hours during their tests.

If battery life is a prime factor, you should consider one of the slower
CPUs and the integrated graphics, both of which will consume less
power, as compared to a faster CPU and dedicated graphics.
