Well today i thought it would be a fun idea to go check out what HP has changed in their laptops recently. Well i looked at the dv5z and behold HP has put in a 512mb radeon 3650. If they can do this for the dv7z i will be saying goodbye to my dv7t.

Stick to your current system...its definitely a DDR2 and will score in the same range as the Studio 17..and 1000-1200 points below the 9600M GT....though its a big improvement option-wise...

Yeah but i hate intel. My system takes over a minute to just go to sleep. It also randomly slows down and just gets on my nerves. My old pentium M laptop runs circles around this one and its worse in every way possible.

So going to AMD is going to fix that??? Im in no way an intel fan boy, but they have AMD beaten when it comes to laptop processors.

what ever dude, think you have more of a software than hardware issue but hey...

have you tried any cpu based benchmarks on your lappie. Do you have all the same software, espcially stuff that loads on boot (antivirus etc etc)?

hope you like your new dv7z.

my brothers laptop " rm-70 4gb ram. wd2500bevs and radeon 3200 ". my specs are in my signature. Both laptops are running bare bones windows vista 64bit with no bloatware or anything. I know the p8400 has more raw prosessing power then a zm-82 but i dont need all that power. And benchmarka i dont care because that isnt real world preformance which is what im all about. I think the dv7z is just more peppy granted is has less power. All i play is world of warcraft on the laptop and a zm-82 is good enough. I think it has too do with the chipset in my case. How long does it take yiur dv5t to go to sleep?

HP added the HD 3650 to the dv5z line up weeks ago, I am surprised you are now seeing this ;) . Oh and HP apparently don't offer the Dv7z anymore it has been weeks since it disappeared from hp.com.

Yeah but a prebuilt model might have a 3650. Also I didn't know I haven't seen anyone talking about it.

I wonder what the 3650 does to the battery life, compared to the 3450. Wish we had decent power management support in the drivers on Linux...
