Guys does anyone know if the dv6 and dv7 uses the same screens?
I think dv7 uses this lg

    http://www.lgdisplay.com/lgdhp/app/productPopup/notebookView.dev?seq=1159

So does the dv6 uses this specific screen or because is 1366*768 uses differert?

I am among this 2 and i dunno what too buy..
    Dv6-3298en
    dv7-5000

I like screens with bright and strong colours..And no noise from fans...
i know dv7 has better specs but for my needs dv6 is also good..
    Only concern is the screens..

HP has many suppliers for the screens. So, for example if one Dv7 shipped with a LG display doesnt necessarily mean another one (same config) is going to have the same LG display. It will have the same spec but it can possibly be from another manufacturer.

IMO, if weight & size are not an issue, the dv7 with the higher resolution screen (1600X900) would be better than the dv6 with its 1366X768 screen.

Basically luck. You might get the LG screen you prefer or something else unless you are looking at a laptop in a store before buying and can confirm it has the screen you want.

Obviously they don't just put in random screens with the required dimensions, they would have a couple of choices in which they keep a consistent suitability for their models.

Yeah, but the screens do meet some basic spec set by HP. Even my Thinkpad T400 comes with LCD's manufacturerd by different sources. It makes sense to have more than one supplier just in case one of them has problems. If you want a good screen then consider from an HP consider the envy series with the radiance displays or the higher end business laptops, the rest of their lineup (just like the rest of the industry) use the cheaper panels.

yes i agree that companies should have more suppliers in case that have problem with some of them, but the screen differnces between 2 same hp must not be so obvious and big..If it was same quility yes.. But now is unacceptable..
