I purchased a Dv6000 based HP and have had issues with a broken power jack. On searching about this issue, I see I am not alone with this problem. What I want to know is this an isolated issue or some problem with the Dv6000's side mount power jack?

Eg. I do not want to get a replacement and find it with this issue in a year!

This happens with all kinds of computers. Nothing epidemic, but it is one of the more common hardware failures.

Yes, I have heard that this is very common for HP laptops, and I have a 6000 with this problem as well.

A “broken dc jack” is a recurring problem with my 3 year old compaq presario. I fear it will continue...since it seems like a faulty design feature. Repairs are 100 to 140 dollars each time PLS help with ideas on how to strengthen this weak spot. thks.

So do most DV6000 laptops have this issue?? That's not setting a good example.

Not "most"... but the highest amount I've seen through google compared to any other model.
