So i'm leaning towards buying this. Are there any issues like the keyboard one with the 5000? Or are most people who have the 6000 pretty satisfied?

It is still fairly new so reports are going to be limited. I should be getting the review unit next week.

Mine works perfect. Just workmanship issues. Loose screen frame on my first one and a dead pixel on the other. No major issues and I'm loving it.

Best Buy has the dv6045nr on sale this week. It has just about everything except Bluetooth and the larger battery. I'd take a look at that. Four of the six regional stores in my area claim to have them in stock.

Below is a link to a recent review on the dv2000t.

I realize you're asking about the dv6000, but they seem to be built very similarly, and this particular reviewer spent quite a bit of time testing not only the keyboard on the dv2000t, but also numerous other laptops, such as Lenovo 3000, Apple MacBook and IBM's Thinkpad.

Bottom line is, he writes "It’s unquestionably the best keyboard HP has put into a consumer notebook to date. It feels very close to the feel of a “gold-standard” NMB-sourced ThinkPad keyboard."

He was able to achieve 129 wpm on this HP keyboard, while maintaining 99% accuracy! He was only able to maintain 99% accuracy on the HP and one other computer (the Lenovo).*

Again, while this applies to the dv2000, it certainly seems like the dv6000 uses either the same or very similar components.
