    Hi all,

I have been salivating for a dv6000 series laptop for a long time now and its almost time for me to finally take the byte. Does anyone have an idea of when the series might be refreshed? What have been the past release timelines?

In my understanding, in the next refresh, the design is a strong candidate for update. Also, display resolution update has also been long due. I would hate to buy a model today with a refresh announced next month :)

    Tks,
    C

Alot of people are speculating that a new lineup/refreshment will be coming around sometime in June/July when Intel's new chipset finally starts shipping. THat's the same window i'm waiting for and it's not too far off so I'm hoping it's worth the wait.

AMD's Puma platform will be ready around that time as well.

Would that be the same time frame for a refresh across product series?

It may be a bit more than a simple refresh (I'm hoping to see a new chassis altogether). If the new dv3000 is any indication, this may well be the case (no pun intended). ;)

Yeah, i'm hoping there's at least one more model for the Dv2000 series (probably the 2900 lol) because I can't afford the Dv3000 right now lol

If not, i'll just have to settle for the Verve.

I don't want to get myself too excited though because all the things that I WANT in the next lineup will probably NOT be there. (LCD backlight, backlit keyboard, slot-loading drive etc lol)

Much Ado About Nothing... I gave in to the temptation and placed the order for dv6700tse with Blu Ray and 4 GB RAM :-D

Thanks nonetheless to all those who responded! I guess I'll buy my next one to be Nelham, or whatever is hot then...
