I just bought a Sandisk 8GB USB 2.0 memory stick. I'm transfering 4.7 GB worth of music and its taking 25 minutes? There is no way USB 2.0 is that slow, should take close to 2 minutes.

I checked system settings and all drivers seem installed correctly. Any ideas?

Flash memory is slow at writing. And it'll be no different with USB 3.0 if you use a cheap stick. If you get a high-speed memory stick it won't take as long, but of course it'll cost extra.

well, it takes 23 minutes to send 6.3GB worth of files from my laptop the USB drive.

it then takes only 9 minutes to copy those same files from the USB stick to my desktop?

Read my other post again, flash memory is slow at writing. Read speeds are much higher. Try copying the files back from your computer to the USB drive and it'll take the same 23 minutes.
