    Dv6500 Opps! No caps lights w/rebuild

    I upgraded the processor, and well. Somewhere I musta not put one of the zifs in all the way or other. System works fine, except... I no longer have the keyboard caps led. Numlock is a ok.

    front led lights are working. Mouse led is working. From the Hp teardown manual, I cant see which zif this particular would be hooked into. Possibly damaged a connection on the underside of the upper case that powers the led alone? (God I dont want to have to disassemble that far to just check. I know how fragile all these zifs are to constantly pull/push

    Does someone have an disassembled upper case they could picture that particular area? Maybe I can diagnose without teardown (ie seeing from your picture were its wiring goes to).

    Possibly damaged the keyboard itself. I've had that happen on my old Toshiba Portege.
