    hey everyone!

i just purchased a customized dv6500t on July 12th! (the order was just dropped to the factory on the 13th  ) haha

anyway, one question. do i need to buy an express card for the notebook to get internet access? i purchased this one http://www.buy.com/prod/linksys-dua...apter-wpc55ag-pc-card/q/loc/101/10342388.html do you think i should return it or keep it? can i still get internet access without any added software and using the computer just the way it came? thanks in advance! :D

The dv6500t ships with a internal wireless card. All you need is a wireless router (link these) and a broadband internet connection to connect to the internet. The express card adaptor is not necessary.

Yes, you will be able to pick up signals from other routers as long as they are the 802.11a/b/g format(pretty much everyone uses the b/g format) if you chose the 3945 wireless card. You will be able to pick up 802.11n format in addition to the other 3 if you selected the 4965 wifi card provided there are wireless 'n' routers in your neighbourhood.

No, the card wont work since HP uses the updated PC expresscard54/34 slot while the Linksys card is based on the PC card slot. The expresscard slot(if you look at the pics on HP' website) should be located in the right side front corner of the notebook.

Generally you should receive the notebook before the estimated ship date. Sometimes there will be some delays during shipping(customs clearance delays) and I dont want to get your hopes up too much. But the build time is around a week and the shipping takes around 4-5 days. The best time to check for updates during the build stage is in the morning since the laptops are built in China and roughly they are ~12hrs ahead of EST.

Fedex dont deliver on the weekends and I dont expect production to continue on the weekends either. They might work on Sat but I dont think they work on Sundays.

haha...Dont kill yourself so early. Wait until the laptop ships and the it sits in a Fedex location about 50miles or so from your home on a Friday evening and they wont let you pick up and have to wait until Monday to get the laptop. :D

FedEx does do shipping on Saturdays. :) Also, you will be able to pick up the other people's wireless as long as there is enough signal strength! But you prolly thought of this I just wanted to throw it out there.
