I've been having some issues with my speakers for quite some time now.
The first issue is when I watch a video or listen to a song whether through youtube or media player I get a static noise at completely random times. I don't believe this is a hardware issue as it also happens when I have headphones plugged in and it doesn't happen when I play pc games like BF3 or COD.

Secondly, sometimes when I connect my headphones into my pc jack, sound still comes out of the speakers rather than my headphones. My computer detects the headphones but for whatever reason it won't play the sound through them until I reset it with the headphones kept in the jack.

If anybody knows how I can correct these issues it would mean a lot.

    Thank You.

To fix your second issue, go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound. Right click on the "Communications Headphones" and click disable. This should fix your issue.

I don't know how to fix your first issue.

Regarding 2nd problem, my workaround is to disable Communications Headphone in Sound Properties.
