Hi everyone so i own i dv6tqe and i decided to clean the fan. Since it is my first time doing something like this can anyone who own the laptop give me some advice. Should i use the fan directly on the air exit on the side of the laptop? or should i open it from the back?

    Any tip is appreciated

if you can find the manual for your laptop, it gives details instructions on how to open the laptop and its actually fairly easily. after you do it the first time, you will never need the manual again except to maybe look up parts or something

to get to the fan, you have to remove the top cover. but if you don't want to bother with that, then you could always stick the straw of the compressed air can into the vent and blow out the dust that way. just make sure its turned off

Some people like to use a toothpick to make sure the fan doesn't spin faster than what it's made to spin at.

As for opening it up, you can easily do that by sliding the battery cover switch over to the side that has the hard drive icon and other various symbols. If you look closely, there is a symbol for the battery and the switch goes two ways. This will pop out a corner of the cover so you can take the rest off.

You can blow into the vents like dwalk1989 said, but it will be hard to determine if you actually got dust out of the system at all.
