when coming across newegg, i came across this insane deal.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157061&Tpk=34-157-061

Was going to go with a Sony Vaio Cw, but when i found this, my mind was blown.

Really seems too good too be true for that price.
I'm being paranoid that something would be wrong with the laptop
    Any opinions?

Btw, now i'm torn between this and this:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834117966

Any idea which i should get?
    Deciding in 2 days!

hp specs usually beat other competitors and have better prices... IMO, i think you should wait it out a week, if you can, for a black friday deal/coupon from hp. but the specs on the hp you posted are really nice :D

or perhaps...Acer's....those guys really have the best bang for buck. IMHO HP cuts corners....like a seemingly DDR3 platform and or DDR3 GPU both being installed with DDR2 .....display reso's..... etc etc..

For $750, I don't think you will find anything new with better specs than the HP you listed.

those specs are awesome for that price - i'd at least buy it now and return it if you get something better on black friday - and that is usually a big IF

HP Pavilion dv6-1362nr, I'm planning to buy the exact same laptop.

    WHAT DOES "nr" STAND FOR?

nr=no region, means that its sold internationally, so you can get the same notebook in Canada (which is awsome for us up here because the ca Candian notebooks have the french/english keyboard, which sucks in my opinion) . This is a HP form but, I would say go with the HP. The GPU is the same one I have in my dv6-1253cl and should outperform the Nvidia one in the Sony. You should look into the Sony model, to see how good the cooling system is, see if any one has any temps posted on it and see if they are cooler than the HP. Looks like it has a nice big vent on the side of it so that could help compared to the dv6. A lot of the issues I have heard about on the dv6 are the older ones with Nvidia 9600 GPUs running too hot. As far as build quality goes, usually just like anything else you are rolling the dice.

These are all HP's laptops in the past 3 years, including the old ones,
the DV6 series is out for a while now and without real issues, at least that what i know and heard of.

Boy I'm about to pull the trigger one one of these too. My dedicated video card in my Sony SZ680 died about a year ago and I've had to go without a decent video card for way too long, so... it's time for a new Laptop. It's nice to see that this time around I won't have to forkout 2 grand for a decent laptop that can play games.

From the scrounging around on the interweb it looks like the video card in this laptop is pretty decent.

I was going to wait until Black Friday and try to find a good deal for a 600-800$ laptop (that has a dedicated video card), but it looks like all the deals I can find seem to be for laptops with integrated video... which I really do not want. I've got to be able to play Starcraft 2 when it comes out hehe =)

This HP actually looks pretty sweet from the pics... I may wait another day or two but as of right now, this one is the front runner for my Thanksgiving dollars.

Or can anyone else show me where there will be better bang for the buck in the next few days?

Is this still the best deal going on for a good CPU and good decidated GPU?

I still think that one of the best things about this laptop is that it just looks pretty darn good.

The weekend of savings draws ever closer... ;)

be sure to check office max, office depot, and staples. The last machine I bought was $100- cheaper at Office Max than at Costco or Newegg.

Plus, I'd much rather pay local sales tax than a 'FedEx/UPS shipping tax' that moves my money out of state to wherever.

Whoaaaa, how do you get that 10% off? I would do that right now if I could figure out how to get that 10% lol. All I see is 1% on Bing?

Oh sad, I think the 10% is over and now it's just 1%. But still though, 650 for that seems REALLY good. No?

Sweet deal! I did manage to get the Bing 10% off to work... so theoretically I just paid $585 for this laptop. I definitely haven't seen any deals better than that so far!

Jeez...I'm stuck between choosing this laptop or a lenovo for $730. This deal doesn't get better than what that laptop is offering, but I'm actually a tad worried about build quality, the whole "1 in 4" hp's failing etc. before 3 years and such.

i think the whole 1 in 4 hps thing was largely due to the nvidia defect, not build quality

My thoughts on that is that no one can predict the build quality of a brand NEW model and computer... also who really has a laptop for more than 3 years anyway? If my computer gives me 3 solid years of use then I would say it lived up to it's end of the bargain. The sony I have now had the video card die after about 14 months... 2 months after the end of the warranty

It wont run out that quick. In fact they just upgraded the screen with a newer model of another manufacturer. Just check the HP owners lounge for more info.

    PRESS ORDER, moonlight white though.

But still.. I am still concerned about the build quality!

I noticed that they were selling a version of this on Amazon for their black friday deals and it looked to be about a hundred dollars more... like 150 if you get the bing cash back (wouldn't be surprised if that goes away soon?... maybe not though... I wasn't going to risk it). 150$ cheaper than a black friday amazon deal? I'm all over this. I can't wait till it gets here :D

If this is such a good deal is there a reason why these haven't sold out by now? Maybe they have alot in stock?
