Dv7 vs Envy 17

In the market for a new Lappy. I've been sporting a Nc8430 quite happely for the past three years and would like therefor to stay w/ HP. I am looking for a 17 inch w/ a blue ray player and have a couple of questions.

1) how does the screen of the Dv vs Envy compare? Are they essentially the same?

2) Will it be an issue to have BR player w/ a 1600x900 screen instead of the 1080?

3) Is there a big difference between a i5 vs i7 processor? I"ll be working mostly w/ photoshop but also want the laptop to be able to handle what ever version of photoshop will be out in 3 years. I"ll also be doing some light movie editing. The i7 is obviously more expensive and seems to create a lot of heat compared the the i5.

4) I will be playing some games but this will be fairly infrequent so I think I should be fine w/ a 5650 and not the 5850.

5) I have seen the Dv at the store and looks like okay quality. No elite book but not cheap plastic like some out there. Is the Envy quality much better than the Dv?

6) It seems I can price out the envy 17 is almost the same as the dv7 (-the better gpu) but w/ the Dv7 including a full 3 yr accidental protection! This is making me lean towards the dv7 more. Is there a reason I should consider the envy over the dv? Anything I am missing? Would greatly appreciate any input or thoughts. Thnx.
