Anyone in here own a DV7-6B75NR? I'm curious to know how well it performs and if its worth the price you paid for.

With EPP, I paid $1045.99 plus $73.22 tax which totals to $1119.21. How much did you pay for yours? Mine is a quick ship model, how long did it take to get yours?

Judging from the specs, that's a pretty awesome laptop! You will be able to run any program out there.

I'm an Sys Admin and have been a user of NUMEROUS laptops over the last 10 or 12 years. After searching extensively and trying out your standard issue Best Buy variety, I finally decided to order my laptop from HP direct. I just got my new dv7-6b75nr last week and so far, I love it with almost no complaints:

    Good:
-With the 1080p display, crisp sharp details with accurate colors (no red/orange issues)
-LOVE the fingerprint scanner, just swipe my finger to get into all my internet accounts!
    -Speed is consistently blazing!
    -Good sound
-Battery life is actually sufficient for my purposes (avg'ing about 8-9hrs with fast/bright settings, on a full charge)
-Great touchpad (even though multi-touch gestures function leave much to be desired), and keyboard tactile feedback.

    Wishes:
    -Backlit keyboard option.
-Better wifi card than the Intel 1030 currently shipped with.
-Not too keen on the fingerprint magnet, dark umber color casing, but still looks nice.
-Since the keys aren't backlit, wish HP used a brighter/bigger 'white' print on them to make them easier to see.

I paid the exact same as you through my employer partnership program. Delivery was through FedEx and I received it in 3 days flat (day of order+1 day transit+day of delivery). VERY VERY satisfied!

Prior to this laptop, I tried the following:

Dell (Best Buy-$700): Returned it after I found out it only had a 10/100 LAN card (as opposed to the "100/1000" LAN card advertised).
ASUS (Best Buy-$750): Returned due to TERRIBLE touchpad and lack of audio volume.
HP (Best Buy-$850): Returned due to wanting Bluray, 1080p display, full TB drive, BlueTooth, etc.

Finally determined that I was going to have to order to get what I wanted in a laptop at a decent price. I looked into doing a custom build for the 1600MHz ram (speed) and a 7500rpm HD but that would have taken 1-2 weeks to build and then ship, plus, it was going to stretch the cost another $150-$200. Decided to get this quick-ship and am pleasantly delighted with pretty much everything about it. Sure, I may have some wishes but for the price, I don't see how anything currently on the market can even compare! Did I mention I LOVE this laptop?

UPDATE: I just found out that according to the service manual, 1600MHz ram is only compatible with the AMD processor spec'd notebooks for dv7.

    (Per dv7-6b75nr manual, below):

NOTE: The computer can be equipped with up to two memory modules. The primary memory module
