    Does anyone have this laptop? I'm considering it and was wondering what were your impressions on performance, weight, look, etc.?

    Yeah I just picked up the dv7 from Best Buy -- it's fantastic!

    Pros
    =======
    -Screen is gorgeous
    -Feels durable; no flex at all
    -Good keyboard
    -Weight is good for 17"
    -Very powerful
    -Design is sleek and subtle; not too flashy
    -Speakers are good for a laptop
    -Touchpad has a good feel to it

    Cons
    =======
    -No keyboard lighting
    -Too glossy -- big fingerprint magnet
    -Speaker ports are in the front

    I have the Envy 15 on order but I cancelled due to backorder issues and it just didn't seem worth it for that laptop. I also went to see the Envy 15 at my local Best Buy and it was nice but it was running pretty warm and it was heavy without having many of the features that the dv7t quad has.

    How does it run temperature wise?

    Sorry, I don't ever monitor temps. Ignorance is bliss :)

    But from a high level perspective - I don't feel the machine gets very warm, even when gaming.

    I saw that one but chose to customize it myself online so I could get blu-ray. Seems like all notebooks today are fingerprint magnets.

    I know right, it's annoying. Especially since I'm coming from a ThinkPad. Oh well, can't have it all but this is pretty close!

    As far as the keyboard lighting I don't get that. The HDX 16 and 18 both had backlit keyboards. My sales rep told me they're getting rid of the HDX 16 as they already have done so with the hdx18t.

    How are the touch controls? On the HDX 16 they weren't bad but weren't great either. And how about sound quality?

    Yeah I'm not looking for exact specs. I was just looking for overall.

    I've only used the volume touch controls and I haven't had any issues. The sound quality to me is the best I've heard on a laptop but that's not saying much. It's better than average but I always have a pair of headphones nearby.

    Do you have any background information on this? I mean any reviews that you read before buying it? does core i7 heat? hp has heating issues, for some reason, does this one have it? or screen, how's the screen quality, i have a 17" sony vaio, it is 1400x900, pretty low, but it is like a TV, no grainy, etc.
    The only problem that I have with this deal is its GPU, it is a poor one, compared to my 9800GTS :D on asus g50vt
    But still can replace Sony VAIO VGN-AR730E/B ? may be? what do you think mattmjb0188?
    what do you think? Do you think I can find a deal like this in a month? or two?
