Okay, here is the deal, i have a DV8315nr with AMD Turion 64 Mobile Processor.
About 2 weeks ago, the notorious buzzing fan sound started. Although it once happened once before but stopped, it seems more relentless now, no matter what I try.
Anyway, i was fiddling with RMclock and I think I have escaled the problem by changing some settings trying to "undervolt". Now i noticed my computer gets alot warmer and I used a program called speedfan to check the temp and it's soaring at 74C. (i'm not sure if this is normal but it seems a little high)
I researched a little about the annoying noise, the only solution I found was for Intel processors disabling the C4 in BIOS.
I tried updating my AMD BIOS, but to no avail.
so now i have two problems, system getting very hot and the stupid fan noise, please help ??

Also, note CPU usage is at 100% omg

Do you have alot of bloatware or programs that are running cause theres too much load of your processor thats why its heating up. When i run ORTHOS program (puts full load on your cpu to determine your max temp). I managed to get 75c after 12mins on full cpu load
If you follow the undervolting guide there should be no problems. I undervolted my laptop yesterday and manage to take off an easy 6c on the max temps on a .150v undervolt. Heres the guide, scroll to the middle http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=124420&page=16&highlight=undervolt -
Thanks for the response, take a look at http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000687.htm
I am running AMD, and i think it falls into the K6 category. What do you think? and what about the buzzing noise it's RELENTLESS!!!!! -
Your model is a little old so im not too sure if the c4 sleep state fix might work for yours. Theres other methods of fixing it:
Go to RMclock and click on the Advance CPU settings tab and you can disable the c4 sleep states from there
Your temperature is fine, its the full cpu load thats making it go that high. -
Hi,
I have dv6500z with tl-60. I am able to reach 70C after running wprime stress test for 15minutes. It runs the CPU at 100% constanlty for this duration. Under normal work load it runs between 45 - 60C when connected to power. It idles around 40 - 45C. On battery, it runs bit cooler though. I do not know why. Temps even went as low as 33C when it is idle on battery.
When i looked around here, most of us are getting similar temps includng c2d. There is nothing abnormal about AMD.
Following are the current temps saved in HWMonitor. I am just writing this. My notebook is running on battery for 15mins.

Also, is this normal?

Go to your profile settings of the undervolting page and click on default, that should reset the volts back to the way it was. Then on the drop down menus choose No Management for all of them
Click apply now undervolting is disabled
Undervolting doesnt take in effect if the program isnt open so your overheating laptop might not even be caused by RMclock -
let's see....

so know one knows the answer to my fan problems?
