I've looked through the scheduled tasks and I don't see any obvious answers to this problem. Whenever I put my DV9000 into sleep or hibernate overnight, I always find it to be awake and hot in the morning when I return. Obviously there is some process waking it up in the middle of the night, but I can't find what it is.

It's a new (3 week old) DV 9000 with the standard Vista Premium configuration from the factor minus some of the bloatware I removed.

funny... my HP iPaq hx2750 Pocket PC always wakes up exactly at 12.00 am, when it is plugged in to the power adapter. maybe its an hp's things. funny they did not find this 'bugs' and did not fix it. my hp ipaq still has few issues that needs to be resolved but there hasn't been an update since a very long time. support/update for the ipaq seems to last for about 2 years since they launch the product.

Thanks--best i can tell, it does look like media center is trying to download a program guide at 4 am, about an hour before I start.

we'll see in the next overnight

My baby slept through the night last night!!!!

ROTFL, it was media center. Not sure which process in it though. Media center was trying to download the program guide, contact the customer improvement program, and download album covers etc... shut all that off and it slept like a baby.

side note--I'm very happy with my DV9000. No fan problems or high pitched noised. Display is soo much brighter and sharper than my 5 year old Presario. Only minor annoyance is the tiny right shift button.
