    I just bought a DV9700 that doesn't work right. I believe
the drive is toast. Can anyone tell me what Vista Home Prem
came in it ? The 32 bit or the 64 bit ? I can't seem to find
    out which one it is.

    Thank you for any info.

Which one do you want it to be?

Odds are likely that the device originally shipped with a 64-bit OS. But a 32-bit OS can just as easily be installed and work just as well.

When it came to Vista, most consumer notebooks, at that time, were only capable of no more than 4gig of ram max. A general rule of thumb, I went by, is that if the notebook had only 1, 2 or 3 gig of ram - stick with a 32-bit OS. If 4 gig is present, go with a 64-bit version. But it is purely your preference and a matter that is decisively based on a point-of-view.
