    How much performance gain does the new dv7t offer compared to the older dv9700t?

    Assume the dv9700t has a T9300 (2.50GHz) and 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS and the dv7t has a T9400 (2.53 GHz) and 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT. All other specs would be the same. I realize that this may be a difficult question to answer but I am looking for a ballpark comparison, i.e., a 10% increase, etcÂ… I am curious to know if the new machine is that much better and is worth the cost increase. If this question has already been answered could you please refer me to that thread.

    the 9600m gt is about 3-4 times faster than the 8600m gs
