Ive recently Downgraded to XP Pro From vista.
My Dvd Drive does not want to burn things for me.
I tried burning lots of dvd+r's , nero goes to 1% and then , after lot of chuffing and puffing , ejects my disc with a 'Burn Failed'.

    Here's Nero Infotool on it---

Should i Change the type of Discs and try?
Or did i screw something up when i downgraded?

First try Use ImgBurn. Its a free burning program, its also good

If that doesnt work then try using DVD-R's or even try burning CD-R/RW's

I dont see how downgrading from Vista to XP could affect the optical drives since they dont use drivers.

Are those "lots of dvd+r's" all from the same package? Try buying new ones that are a different brand.

    Good post.

I've had occasional burning problems which I originally thought were due to either drivers or the hardware. ImgBurn (and, once in a while CDBurnerXP) solved my burning issues. LOL

Has this Happened to any one else?
Or did HP pick my ass randomly.

    No problems..

Have you tried lightscribe before? Your burner should have lightscribe which lets you print text/photos into special discs. Heres a few ive made, sorry for phone quality:

but you need Lightscribe-capable discs rite?
the place i live, lightscribe discs are sum what of a rarity.
i found out after designing various covers and labels, much to my dismay.
But ill probably be hitting the US, quite soon, ill give em a shot then.
    peace.
