Hi all
I'm considering getting a 2nd gen envy 15t from ebay.com, priced at $950 however I'm sceptical because of the fact its 1) refurb, 2) issues with 15t - blank screen/heat issues 3) I'm from the UK.
If any problem arose would HP UK resolve it given I'll have 90 day warranty despite the fact envys aren't even out here yet? Also have the issues with the envy 15 been fixed yet and would getting a refurb model increase the likely hood of getting a faulty model?
Unfortunately cos of all the import taxes etc and shipping, it'll end up costing in the mid £800 region = $1306 in total.. still cheaper but still alooot of money and with a greater risk so I'd really appreciate any general advice/answer to the above queries.
Thanks in advance.

You will not know whether your refurb Envy was one of the ones produced when the black screen issue was rampant.
You will likely have less issues in the long run if you go new. -

I'm typing this on my wife's 2nd gen refurb, which we just received on Tuesday. so far, no black screen and runs great. also there were no fingerprints, smudges, cracks etc. the only thing I noticed is that the SSD is a little bit lower in the benchmarks but we can't notice any difference in the applications so far. bootup/shutdown still pretty fast. we got a 7-day return period from the seller. as far as I'm aware the blank screen issue seems to appear soon after purchase. in my case for a previous unit, it happened on the first bootup after unboxing.

Just got a refurb myself this week.
I've tested everything and examined the heck out of the case and only found a little wear on the left hand side. (Two very small black marks.)
Other than that, it looks and works like new. Very nice machine! -
haha thats what i wanna hear. just hope mines the same.. already creating a folder of program images on my external HD to install on the envy. might be jumping the gun but caant wait!
also SHOULD it come with the blank screen fault/bsod issues, i was reading on the main hp forums that the latest bios updates seems to have solved it for the majority?..
