I just bought an ENVY 14 one month ago and I am liking it a lot.
I seem to having a weird problem with my screen though.

So when I am typing on my Open Office Word program for lecture, and then I close my window so my desktop with a dark wood background shows up, the screen brightness suddenly seems to get brighter in a series of 3 stages. It get slightly brighter in 3 stages. Then when I open the Open Office which is a white screen predominantly, the screen gets darker in a series of 3 stages very slightly. I was just wondering if this happens to you all too. I just hope the screen doesnt have a problem :/

This happens only when I am using Intel's Power-Saving GPU but not with the High performance GPU. This screen brightness change is especially noticable with the screen brightness at its lowest.

Do you all have the same phenomena? Is it just a intel GPU problem? Please help!!

Also, I don't know what I did but when i try to change my volume with the hotkeys on top, the volume changing window that popped up when i first got my computer does not appear anymore. Also, I can ONLY change my volume when my laptop is at its desktop screen and NOT when a window is open. Can you tell me how to make it so that the pop up thing appears again and I can change volume in any window, not just the desktop screen? All other hotkeys work on every window except the volume hotkeys! Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hmm, might it be some Intel power-savings [mis]feature? Something like adaptive brightness"?
