I bought my ENVY 14-1100 from HP.com in last Dec and am trying to pair it with my bluetooth headset. But I cannot find the bluetooth! I thought the bluetooth is default on ENVY-14.

PS: It doesn't show any bluetooth info in "device manager" and the diver Broadcom2070forBluetooth downloaed from HP.com cannot work either.

    Thanks for your input.

see if the hp wireless assistant is installed

If so while wifi is turned on, open HPWA and see if it can enable bluetooth.

(you have to use HPWA to turn bluetooth on or off or else it will always be on/off whenever the wifi is switched on/off when hitting fn + f10)

    Thanks so much MagusDraco!!!

Since I did a clean install Windows 7 on my envy 14, there was no HP wireless assistant. Maybe that's why I can not find the bluetooth in device manager.

I went to HP.com and downloaded the HPWA v4.0. Then HPWA installed the bluetooth by itself. SO right now my bluebooth is working properly.

    THanks again MagusDraco!

btw, is the v4.0 the lastest version?

    yeah.

    4.0ish is the latest version.

there's really only two and the other doesn't work on our laptops

edit: though it appears something called hp connection manager has replaced it and should be able to do the same thing and may also not have the nasty side effect of sometimes once in a blue moon eating up 25% of your cpu with the hpqwmiex service)

..'cause yeah once I had the thing trying to kill my battery life. Never seen it happen again but it is apparently a bug with the program's services.

so try uninstalling hpwa and installing this guy instead. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53001-53500/sp53394.exe

    Thanks a lot MagusDraco!

I'm using the sp49408 (hpwa ver4.0). So I'm going to unintal this one and use the sp53394 instead.

    Have a nice day!!!
