I'm going overseas in may for 3 months. My options are buy now, or buy when I get back in August (I assume the envy will have been upgraded by then.) Will the performance increase be worth the wait?

i would definately wait unless u need the comp for your trip. from the performnace of the 7970m, u can tell that the 7750m will be very powerful prolly like 2x as much as the card right now 7690m. battery life should also improve cause of more efficient gpu+cpu, the cpu gets a nice little boost, and they will prolly fix the red-orange issue in the screen

Definitely wait for more info about the next refresh unless you don't plan to run games on it.

When do you guys think we'll be seeing an announcement. I'm a very casual gamer. Sometimes I go months without playing a game till I get the itch again. How much of a performance increase do you think we'll see? 10%? 30%?

    7750m vs. 7690m.

Not much solid info is known yet, but the rumored 7750 specs suggest it will be comparable to the 6970m and faster than many other cards such as the 670m, even faster than a desktop HD 5770 or desktop GTX 550Ti.

Orange LED, lower than 7750, old generation.
    The answer is already fixed.

Use ur new envy until almost the end of the return date and return it... The next upgrade should be a good boost

    -----------
As for the op best option is to wait if u can a lot more powerful stuf is going to be out very soon

Well of course, they would love your money and to get rid of a soon to be outdated model. They would probably try and tell you anything to get a sale right then.

Anyways most often sales and customer service reps. are outsourced to other companies or are such a secluded division of the company they don't know squat. We are usually more informed here than they are .

Dumb question, but when the envy15 gets an update, will the 14 get a refresh as well?
