    ENVY17 series (1xxx) and (2xxx) hot swappable for boot drives?

    If I swap the SSD boot hard drive out of old 1011NR into 2280NR will the 2280NR boot straight up? To all extents and purposes are all the drivers the same? Or is a complete reinstall of everything needed?


    Appreciate any clues form someone with experience...or ideas.

    You need to do a reinstall. The chipset is completely different.
