Before purchasing this laptop I read about people having this issue but I bought it anyways (recently too). I had the same problem and it showed up within a few hours (several times).

    [SOLUTION, FIX]
I noticed that the mic is always on with this laptop which is what causes the lowering.
    1. Right click the Speakers and Headphone icon on your task bar, select Recording devices, and a new window will open. (Notice that the "Integrated Microphone Array" is active.)
    2. Switch to the Communications tab and select the Do nothing radio button.
    3. Apply
    4. ????
    5. Profit.

It has been several days and the volume issue has not appeared since.

It can also be fixed by flashing the BIOS to F.04.

I'd assume most people would prefer pressing a button within Windows than learning how to flash their BIOS. Flashing should be a last resort option anyways.

Did not fix. This is not the only sound issue, there is a host of them as described on the other threads. Static / overpowering speakers and headphones / poor sound quality / etc.

As the title says, this is for those who has the volume randomly lowering. I read about those, usb denting, and other QC problems but my CTO laptop doesn't have those issues, only the random volume fluctuation which this appears to have fixed for me.

Did you try enabling Windows loudness equalization?
