Of the two, R4000 & ZV6000, with identical configurations & at this very moment they are the same price (give-or-take$25)...Which would you choose??...Are there any subtle, yet evident, differences that I've overlooked or are they just a difference in, essentially, brand & model name?
Thanks in advance!!
P.S.-Does anyone know specifics of the RAM modules in the ZV6k, what frequency are they?

The interior componenets are all similar except for the speakers...The HP has Harmon Kardons whereas the Compaq JBL's. Ofsourse the case designs are also different. There are no other differences.

The H&K sepeakers are def better, but the J&L are good as well, so I'd probably go with whichever you like the looks best, unless you're really big on audio in which case go with the HP.

I have also heard that the speakers on the HP are slightly better than the ones on the Compaq but that those are very good speakers as well. And of course, they both look different cosmetically, but have the same components. Its all a matter of really which one looks better to you.

It's not the case here but I prefer the R4000 since I can have more upgrade options for CPU and the dual layer DVD writer. For the speakers, if I'm at home, I'll output to external ones to have better sound. If I'm at public, I'll use headphone since I don't want people hear what I'm playing.

It's all cosmetic. I think the ZV5000 looks better open, and the rounded front edge is comfortable. The R3000 looks better closed to me, with the rounded edges outside.
Flip a coin.

1st off, THANKS for all the input!!...
However, I knew that some of the high-end HPs had the better HK speakers & that it's noted in writing on the front of these models, Can't miss it....But, because all the image galleries I've checked out online didn't have any mention of this, I assumed that the zv6000 didn't have them or AT LEAST didn't say Harmon Kardon on the right front space on the notebook itself...Are you certain, does anyone already have their NEW zv6000 (not5000) with HK speakers & didn't pay extra for 'em?
Thanks again!!
