    Hey all,

My thread title may be a tad inaccurate.

I currently have a DV6565US. Below are the specs

    Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5Ghz
    15.4"
    Centrino Duo
    2GB RAM
    200GB HDD
    Intel GMA X3100
    Lightscribe drive
    Pretty good condition

I went online to get a quote at CashforLaptops and they are going to pay me $245.

I went on eBay and see what I can. I'm guessing I can also get approx $240s-300.

Those systems with bids up to $300 have AMD CPUs and higher spec video cards.

What do you guys think I should do? Go the hassle-free route or ebay route?

Better yet, go the Craigslist route. Most of the time I get better prices selling locally, especially considering eBay fees and what not. Specialty items are easier to sell on eBay though.

That website's a joke. They ask you what laptop model you have and what size screen and base on that they give you a price. They don't ask anything about cpu, ram, gpu. $215 for a core 2 duo 2ghz dv2500 with vista ultimate 64 and 4 gigs of ram lol. Sell it on ebay or craigslist like stated above.

It might sell faster and no fees on craigslist but then someone has to come to your house to pick it up. Also I've heard stories of the buyer coming to your place and robbing you.

If you put it up on ebay and don't mind shipping to foreign countries, the bid price could increase due to more ppl in bidding wars. The best time is to list for 7 days, starting sunday night and ending next sunday night. This is when most people are home. I'm a powerseller on ebay. However, be aware of those offering you $3000 to ship it Nigeria or something. Those ppl are scammers.

In any case, I'd also put it up in the for sale section in this forum plus on craigslist or ebay, thus increasing the chance of sale. Just pull it down when you sell it.

One last thing, make your description sound good, like its almost new, what you can do on it etc. I've seen so many ppl put like "yeah this is a dell laptop with uhhh core 2 something" and get like $100. If you have the original box, say so and show it. Oh pics are critical too. People like to see what they're buying. The more the better.
