    Hi, all

I am thinking of getting a mobile workstaion. I am asking the 8530 owner about their experience. Is the build quality good?? Any dead pixels?? what about the touch pad buttons and keyboard flex?? I read a few posts regargin the poot build quality of some HP laptops,,so what do you think? If you have any remarks I will appreciate them very much??

You can't really beat the HP buisness lineup for build quality and design. And these elitebooks now have a full metal jacket, even the bottom casing.

I have some pre-production 8530w/p's and even they are very good. I've stripped them down to their system boards, and I am very pleased with the structure and design.

For the specifics you asked about...
As for keyboard flex, there is some on mine, but nothing a bit of double sided tape won't fix. The mouse buttons have a fairly long travel, which could be annoying for some. The screens are excellent.

I've been using HP business laptops for years now, and am on my 6th incarnation of their mobile workstation platform with the 8530w, and this is definately the best so far (there have only been 6 generations so I've used them all extensively).
