    Hi guys,

Sorry for a silly question but I have been out of the hardware upgrade cycle recently and followed more the dSLR things than computer hardware so could somebody tell me when did HP start to sell the replacements for 8x10p/w series business notebooks?

Just thinking ahead this time and trying to pinpoint when they will be doing similar thing so I could start to prepare for an upgrade :)

elitebooks 8x30p/w models are out since fall '08.

the ones coming early 2010 are the 8x40p/w models, including a new 8440w one.

however, i heared from a hp product manager that the p models are coming with nvidia graphics - since i dont expect mobile fermi models to be out in q1/2010, these are going to be some 230m/250m/260m outdated dx10 gpus.

    fail, HP...

and i was hoping to get a great successor to my 8510p with a mobility radeon 5650/5670 gpu, or better.. at least the cpus are gonna rock, but still its a fail.

    waiting for 8x50p.

Well, guess will have to consider waiting another year then... or moving to IBM/Asus...
The WW business 3-year NBD warranty was a treat for me and a major infuence on my decision so wouldn'r really want to to that but I guess if HP sees their sales going down on this models will take a note...

Oh, sorry, I misread your question. Thought it was the next gen EliteBooks you're referring to as the current generation have been out over a year.

I do not have firm details on the GPU, but I also received word that Nvidia GPUs are likely to power both the p and w series.
