The Ati M5800 has been added as an option. When will they update the pre-configured models to include this option? Customization increases the price drastically, and the pre-configured models would be a more practical choice.

FYI, today, I found some availabilities on 8440w(FN093UT) model:
here is the link: http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/HP_EliteBook_Mobile_Workstation_8440w/FN093UTABA/11069279/ -
I'm leaning towards a pre-configured 8540w at the moment simply because apparently you can get a free docking station with it.

I didn't see the ATI option come up when I went to configure the 8540W...where did you see this pop up?

I finally got 8440w with $1479 shipped. The laptop is working fine and needs some driver installation from hp cd (I am using win 7 ultimate)
I am figuring out how to enable biometric device without installing hp application since driver seems to be installed properly.
When I enable it with hp application, it is more complicate because when I log in windows displays three login accounts. (It was only one account, which myself before setting biometric login)
thank you guys for the discussion -
Awesome! Canada still seem to have no stock available... the company I'm buying it from is telling me early April
Any early comments? Maybe a mini review?
