    Elitebook 8440w not shipping

    Long time reader, first time poster.

    Anyway, does anyone know why the Elitebooks have been delayed so badly? I ordered the FN093UT pre-built 8440w option back on February 1, the day it showed up on the web site. The estimated ship date was February 8.

    On February 9, I got an email notifying me the order was delayed. I called and spoke to someone in sales who found out that they weren't able to ship due to Chinese New Year and would start shipping again on the 25th. OK, I wasn't very happy but figured there was nothing they could do.

    So, now it's the 25th and I have not heard anything (and my order page still says it's shipping Feb 8). I emailed support and just got back a notice that it is estimated to ship ... March 31. No reason why.

    Does anyone know what's going on? Does HP just not want my money? And are they misleading customers by suggesting ship dates that are 8 weeks different than the actual ship date?

    I ordered one from CDW-G a few days ago and was told by them that there's some sort of battery shortage for it. :-/
