I find the HP website a bit confusing. A few questions:
1. Am I right that HP doesn't offer a notebook with a 15" screen, one of the new processors and integrated graphics? For a user like me, who does a lot of photo editing using processor (but not GPU) intensive applications, I need the 15" screen but don't want the battery drain of a discrete GPU. Surprised they don't offer the choice. Am I missing anything? I know Lenovo models often open up in terms of configurability in the weeks after they are released. Does HP do the same thing, or is the best guess that I won't even later see an HP offering with a 15" screen, a core i7 620M and integrated graphics?
2. Does anyone know if the 160GB SSDs that HP is offering are the G1 or G2 Intel drives? Anyone know which 256GB SSD drive they're offering?
3. What's the advantage of choosing the 120W AC adapter over 90W? Faster battery charging?
4. I don't understand the two battery choices. The default is an "8-cell 73Whr", but there's an upgrade choice for a "Long Life 8-cell 68 Whr" battery. The latter appears to have shorter battery life than the default, but it's described as "long life" and costs $74 more. I must misunderstand tha labeling here. Can anyone help?
Thanks

1) That's odd, HP had an integrated pre-config up yesterday for the 8540p. It should be back soon.
2) No idea on the SSD, but I'd guess G2. You can chat with a salesperson and ask them directly.
3) Larger adapters are required for the quad core models with discrete graphics. Maybe it would have the side-effect of charging the battery faster, but that's not the main point.
4) I'm guessing "long-life" means more cycles. Just a logical guess though.
EDIT: Any chance a mod can move this? we already have too many threads for the 8540.
