Started eyeing up the spectre until i realized the elitebook was a little bit more forgiving in regards to Input/Output and no community known issue like the overheating plaguing the i7 spectre.

That said, the pricepoint is at the topend of my range. Was looking to stay at $1700 and under. That only gets me an i5-7xxx cpu, 8GB of ram, and a 125 GB SSD. In a perfect world I'd have an i7-7xxx, 16GB Ram, and 512GB SSD. I could definitely get by on the i5 because i'm on a 5th gen i5 now and it's perfectly fine but the 125ssd is super poverty.

Does anyone know if I could swap out the RAM/SSD for upgrades later or are they sodered in place?

The SSD is about the only component that isn't soldered in place.
