Hi, this may sound weird, but I want to use my new compaq v2000z WITHOUT a battery.

It's a very nice machine but a bit heavier than I expected. I took out the 6-cell battery today and realized how much it contributed to the total 5 lbs plus.

But what to do with the open space left? I need to keep it from dirts and bumps along the sharp edges.

Does anyone manufacture light-weight empty battery shells or covers for swapping?

Or anyone can offer me an old battery that I can dismantle for the shell? :D
