    Hi All,

I want to enable Intel VT on my HP Pavillion DV2842SE. I need to do this to run a 64 Bit Guest OS in VMware/Sun Virtual Box. Currently, the Phoenix BIOS (version F2E dated 12-2008) hides this feature. I have tried flashing to older BIOS versions just in case with no luck. My Proc is Intel Core 2 Duo T 5600, Mobo is Wistron 30CD, INtel GM 965 Chipset, 4 GB RAM, running Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. I had previously installed XP Prof 64 Bit on this laptop and got Intel VT turned on(so it is clearly supported), but cannot do it when I returned to factory installed Vista Home Premium 64 Bit (some software was not available for XP like Youcam and Multi-Touch scrolling for trackpad, etc and so I had to (sigh) return to Vista). Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Adipolle
PS: Searched and found no discussions on this.

If you haven't change it, your processor is T5550, I saw it here

Sorry to say T5550 do not have Virtualization Technology feature but T5600 does. Which software are you using to see your CPU? download latest CPUID, it will show the correct one.

Yeah Buddy, I don't have the T5550, I have the T 5600(see attachment from CPUZ)
Also, I did mention in my post that I got this working when I installed XP Prof 64 Bit and so there is no question that my laptop Proc can have Intel VT turned on. It just is hidden with the OEM Vista OS.
    Thanks,
    Adipolle.
