    Overall, the news make me feel extremely pessimistic about Radiance. Look like we are never going to see it again.

    I partly blame sheeple buying into HDTVs and thinking that 1080p and 768p is the best high resolution ever when higher resolutions existed on laptops and desktop monitors long before that. That's given computer manufacturers an excuse to water down the displays in order to save money while giving ignorant consumers the false impression that the displays are next generation and high end.

    Looks like I'll be hanging onto this computer for a while until manufacturers get their act together.

    kinda off topic but why did they choose 1080p to be "HD" in the first place? I mean, why exactly is 1080p considered the highest definition?
