For those lucky Envy 133 owners out there, does the IOS consume less power than windows vista at idle? The Latitude E series features an instant on operating system that runs off the hard drive just like the Envy, but manages to consume more power than Vista idling. I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of battery life can be expected if only using the IOS. Thanks!

Well it sounds like you have not bought either system yet.
You need to take everything Voodoo says with a big grain of salt, they like to convolute things with their advertisements, and stuff.
I wouldnt call any M133 lucky
First off I have not seen anyone report more than 3.5 hours of battery life with the M133. Voodoo's site says it has a 33WHr battery.
The Dell E6400 has been reported to get 7-9 hours of battery life, under normal circumstances. Yes Dell says it can get 19 hours of battery life, but users here say that it can easily do 7 hours of battery life on its 6 cell 56whr battery.
If you look at those numbers their, you can see the E6400 is much more efficient. More than 2 x the battery life on less than 2x the battery power.
If battery life is the main concern, the E6400 is a better choice, if a powerful system is a main concern, the E6400 is a better choice. (It has faster processor and graphics options, and its cheaper)
The voodoo has a max processor speed of the SP7700 1.8Ghz chip, while the E6400 uses the new monteveina chips. Even the lowest end P series monteveina chip will cream the SP7700 in both power consumption and performance.
The graphics processor on the E6400 is better too. The X4500HMD >>>> performance than the X3100.
To me the answer on which to buy is pretty clear
Ths review should be a very helpful read for you:

thanks k-torn, sounds like the envy is more proof of concept / work of art.

I dunno. I'd like to hear from someone about this as well. I'm assuming 3.5 hours is with the 'full' OS. I'd like to hear first-hand accounts about battery life on the Envy 133 in various modes, not the irrelevant experiences of someone who is regretting buying a rebadged Clevo
I also wouldn't mind knowing when the Centrino 2 refresh for it might break cover.
