I've loved my Envy 14 so far despite some of its flaws. Unlucky for me, I happened to slip while walking and the laptop dropped and hit the floor. Now the screen has several lines and a large black spot on the top left corner. This is the old 1600x900 radiance screen. I'd like to know an estimate of how much it would cost to repair/replace the screen? And also if they're out of the 1600x900 radiance screens. I'm going to be pretty angry if I have to pay an absurd amount of money for the new, smaller resolution screen. I still have the standard 1-year warranty, but I know this doesn't cover accidental damage (which sucks :()

On another note, the build is pretty solid. There is only one visible imperfection from the drop which is pretty surprising, and it's only a small nick on the corner of the lid. Not that this is any good news though.

You can order a refurbished screen (exchanging your old one) or a new screen from HP. The whole assembly will include a new lid, so no nick in the corner when replaced.

Check this link for either option.

Not sure if they have any new displays in stock, but I would guess they have parts for exchange.

There aren't any Envy 14 parts there, at least ones that I can find. The problem is that even if they did, I'm not sure if it will be the old Radiance screen.

I want to send it in for repair (or a replacement, preferably the cheaper path), but I'm not sure if they have any of the old screens left, and I really don't want to go back to a smaller resolution.

The link I sent you is for the Radiance screen, not the Brightview.
There is a link to chat with a representative online. You can ask them if any are in stock.

Just talked with an online rep, it costs $400, not including tax, for a repair. Does this sound reasonable?

Screen alone would be $250-$300. Tack on labor...

What is the model number of an e14 radiance display (just the panel)?

    Thanks
