Mobo burned out and electrical smoke came out of the vents. The screen was black but I could hear the comp boot up. I sent it back to HP for warranty and they replaced my motherboard and Radiance screen with a new Radiance screen :D

I guess they have some sort of supply somewhere. I was pretty worried about losing that when I sent it in. HP was awesome. Turn around was less than a week.

Good thing it didn't happen while you were napping or in the other room! Could have lost a ton of possessions if the fire spread to your carpet or table.

Laptop fires in this day and age are completely inexcusable. How have they not perfected this yet?

YIKES  that the laptop caught fire...

    ...and...

WOW :D that HP had their repair depot properly stocked with sufficient replacements that they could provide you with an exact replacement in a timely fashion! (That is so very unlike Sony -- the Company That Must Not Be Named, IMHO -- During my 1 year "stay" with them, I had to wait over 4 months total for parts to be procured!!)
