I received an envy 14 beats a week ago now and it came with a dead battery, I called and complained and they escalated it to a case manager who gave me two years of accidental protection for free. I was told I was allowed to make 1 claim per year for any accidental damage. How good is this service? Do they generally replace or repair? What is turn around time like? I'm glad I got the service thrown in for free, I was one of the lucky ones who scored the laptop for $575 on a coupon error.

the accidental damage protection is great, especially if you get the option with house call service and I think there is some kind of expedited repair option.

my wife spilled some iced tea on her Envy 15 trackpad and it fried the mobo.

we called the service, a tech came to our house the same day, couldn't get it working and he said it had to go back. He had a shipping box with him I believe and arranged the details for us. I think we got the unit back with new mobo within about 2 or 3 days.
