Hey guys, so I bought my Envy 14 (beats) in November of 2010. I started having restart issues in August of 2011 and it's been a frustrating mess dealing with horrible customer service. I've sent in my laptop four times and... long story short HP is now offering to send me a replacement laptop. They said they're allowing me to part-match to my old one.
I'm relatively sure the laptop they are sending me is the newer version (Sandy Bridge)? I thought I read something about this version being of lower build quality? Could anyone comment on that? Or on any other inferiorities (if they exist) between the older and newer version of the Envy 14 Beats edition? I know that overall, the one they're offering is better.
Should I try going for any upgrades like 830GB (80GB mSATA SSD + 750GB 7200RPM HDD) which I saw on a quick-ship version online?
If it helps, I did previously upgrade my old laptop, though I think I only bothered with memory and processor.

Which apps do you need to run on it? The specs of your replacement are pretty similar.
Mobile CPU Benchmarks
AMD Radeon HD 6630M
If you have any possible way to insist on this I would push for the higher res display option (1600x900). 1366x768 is not high enough for 14" IMO. -
Thanks
I like working on photoshop and word while listening to music and using chrome and skype lol I also tend to have launchy, stardock, and rainmeter running.
Apart from the restart issue, my current processor doesn't seem to have any issues with this load.
I know people suggest the resolution change but small text tends to irk me so I'm kind of iffy. -
