Long story short, for quite a while, whenever I plug in external speakers or headphones while the Envy is running, it ignores them and keeps audio on the laptop speakers. If I unplug the speakers while the computer is running, the only way to get audio back to them (that I've found) is to restart the computer.

    Has anyone experienced/overcome this issue?

Maybe try dabbing a qtip in some rubbing alcohol or something and swap the plug. Could be corroded?

It seems more like a software issue, though, since it'll run audio through the jack if it booted up like that. I've looked through the audio driver options and not found anything yet, but my suspicion is that the issue lies somewhere in there.

I might try swabbing it out anyway, but I think the issue lies elsewhere.

this seems to be a new problem created by the new beats audio software. revert to an older build or back to stock.
