Lately I've been running into an issue with my Envy 14 display.
I can't take a picture of it but I'll do my best to describe it.
At apparently random times the display fades to white. It doesn't go out completely, but whites become much brighter and it is harder to tell the difference between white and a different color.
Let me give you an example, the notepad icon for a txt file is a white paper with lines on it. When this display issue comes up, I can barely see the lines anymore and the icon looks like a glowing white paper.
Everything looks bleached out. There was an extreme incident of this a while back where the whole display basically become white.
Has anyone else had this problem? My warranty is about to expire and any help would be appreciated

Yea I've noticed that this happens to my computer too. It only happens with intel graphics, as far as I can tell. The only way it goes away is by changing graphics card or restarting. It's very annoying.
I also have this weird graphics issue.Attached Files:

That doesn't sound right at all. If your warranty is about to expire I would absolutely open a case with HP while you can.
Which display do you have? Does it resolve on its own or do you have to reboot? -
I've had the whitening screen issue pop up on and off myself.
-
For me, it can happen on integrated or discrete graphics and rebooting usually solves the issue, but I've had one instance where I rebooted and nothing happened (It went away on its own eventually).
For the people experiencing the same issue - I'm wondering, do you have radiance displays? -
I'm not sure if I had the problem you are talking about, but when I used to wake my computer up from sleep everything would look washed out and significantly whiter. It was as if the contrast had been turned down a lot. I don't seem to get this problem anymore though, not sure what did it reformat or BIOS update.

I've seen that happen in quite a few laptops (not HP tho) and with those it has always been LCD cable.

Good, I'm not the only one! This happens to me when I'm using the intel card, lately it hasn't been happening (I did a clean install), but when it did, it happened exactly as you described it. I didn't feel like it was a big problem, so I'd rather not return it. It went away about 5 seconds after it began. Sometimes, if the bleached effect did stick around, I would restart or toggle between ATI and intel cards.

This happened to me on Radiance + Intel several times.

This happens to me with Intel + Radiance when waking from sleep....after 3-4 seconds it "warms up" and is back to normal.
Nice to know it not a unique problem....i've never considered it bad enough to warranty. -
Open your intel graphics control panel (right click on desktop while on power saving GPU, and click graphics properties)
Go down to the power section and select power features, then select "on battery" from the drop down, then uncheck "display power saving technology"
Its a way of saving power it has, I have no idea how effective it is though.
