Does anyone have any experience with replacing keys for the Envy 14? I called HP about buying a replacement key and they gave me some ridiculous policy about needing to send it in to replace the entire Keyboard. Sounds like some heavy BS, and I really don't want to send in the entire computer and deal with having to make an image of my entire hard drive to indulge HP's ridiculous policy of re-imaging a factory version of the drive onto the HDD for ANY service operation.

HP doesn't reimage for something like that. If a key is obviously missing or loose, they won't reinstall. They also have a new free data backup service.

That data backup is up to the Technician. Do not rely on HP to backup your data. You can sign the form and not opt for the backup, but they at times do the backup anyway. You can not sign the form and opt for the backup and they can at times not do the backup anyway. In other words, HP offering free data backup is as good as them not offering it at all.
