Hey all just got an envy 14 with the radiance (purchased from a guy on Craigslist.. There is a minor dead pixel in an unnoticeable spot (bottom right above the time.. you have to really look to see it so it doesn't get in the way). So not that big an issue (or is it? is this a sign it's going bad).. Did notice a slight flickering... Has anyone noticed that with their Radiance screens? Also noticed that the battery says 89% with 59 mins left.. is that normal.. I do have the settings set for power save and the switchable graphics are set for "power saving mode" while on battery power. Any help would be great..

hp envy is rather new series to go that bad...
did you buy an old one? If it was good deal, keep it!

I have 3 year old acer and it has something like what you described on the screen, i don't know why but it appeared during usage.... didn't get ANY bigger though.

You can always try the BATTERY BAR( Osiris Development - BatteryBar, the most accurate battery meter for Windows)
and check the Batter wear level, which tells you how much power it can actually store. If it is 2% then, your batter has 98%capacity(please note that amount worn down cannot be recharged)
The more it is worn down the shorter it can last and can give you rough knowledge about your battery's age. My acer is 3 years old and has about 34% wear level...

Read the battery life log thread. It will answer any question you'll have on that issue.
