Hi I was looking for the dual hard drive option which basically the only noticeable upgrade from the old Envy

580GB Dual Drive (80GB mSATA SSD + 500GB 7200RPM HDD) With HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection

Yes that one. But now it seems that the option is gone. Anyone know whether it is gone for good or only a short term stock shortage?

    Thx.

meh not interested on the 160ssd. seems troublesome to have an external harddisk around just to save my data. notebooks are supposed to be about simplicity, for me.

Doesn't mean you can't buy a secondary drive cage and install it inside the Envy 17. It does support two drives and then no need for an external.
