I have a new Envy 14 and the sounds from the speakers is really really unimpressive, with virtually no bass.

If I turn on or off the Beats thing with Fn-B, I hear no difference that I can notice.

Also the sound seem to be coming from the middle of the laptop rather than the beats speakers, but if I stick my ear against the speakers, I do hear something coming out.

So I guess I am wondering if maybe I have a defective unit.

SO I guess my main questions is: are you supposed to hear a noticeable difference when you turn on Beats?

    Thanks

The Beats setting makes a difference when listening on external speakers or headphones. Try that and you'll notice the difference.
